We all remember the moment when the psychotic assassin Villanelle (Jody Comer) of Killing Eve, wore the frothy Pastel Pink Molly Goddard attention-grabbing tulle dress. And oh what a dress. Styled by Charlotte Mitchelll the iconic dress was worn with biker-style black buckled Balenciaga boots. Everyone was talking about who had designed that dress. Fast forward seasons later we are still talking about Molly Goddard. Her signature look is unmistakable. The British brand has expanded to include outerwear, separates and made to order bridalwear based on existing silhouettes that can be tweaked and customised. Crotchet tulle bags and a collaboration with Ugg featuring three footwear styles. A classic mini boot decorated with floral applique, a fluffy slipper and a platform mule. Her bags are colourful just like the dresses.
I personally love the A/W 20 Pascale frilled tulle midi dress in Raspberry Pink or the Classic Black. Sheer tulle gathered around a square neckline, flared skirt and dramatic frills. Enough tulle to make it special but wearable anytime together with a clashing tangerine tote bag, or the black dress with a black Nora Bumpy drawstring bag. Love it. I wish Molly Goddard continued success because she is doing her own thing with her own rules right here in Britain in glorious colours.
